MSI Annual Forum in Washington, D.C.
The Music Sustainability Initiative at Georgetown University, in partnership with the College of Arts & Sciences and the Law Center, announces the Music Sustainability Forum 2026, to be held April 10–11, 2026, at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
This year’s Forum, “Music and AI: Creativity, Labor, and Power,” brings together musicians, scholars, policymakers, lawyers, and leaders from the music industry and cultural sectors to explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping the conditions of musical work, authorship, and creativity.
The Forum combines read papers with panel discussions, artist presentations, demonstrations, and interactive performances. Participants will engage questions at the intersection of art, law, technology, and policy, examining how AI is transforming the creation, circulation, and value of music, and what these changes mean for sustainability and equity across the field.
